The simulation results have shown that the CO 2 gas residence time in the optimized cyclone-type rotary kiln (i.e., 101.08 s) is 38.05 s longer than that in the original (non-cyclonic) rotary kiln reactor (i.e., 63.03 s). In other words, the proposed design increases the carbonation reaction time by 60.4%.
